Back in March 2011, we took delivery of a U.K. spec Nissan Leaf as our principal family car.
Since then, we’ve kept you up-to-date with the car’s long-term progress, including reports after driving 5,000 miles in it, after covering the 11,000 mile mark, and after one year of ownership.

I had my 15,000 mile battery check and the maintenance done today. The battery checked out at 5 stars. The maintenance that was done included rotating the tires, and replacing the cabin filter. Electronics engineer Richard Todd and Smooth Radio DJ Mark Goodier were the first customers in the UK to take delivery of their Leaf electric cars, both supplied by Glyn Hopkin Nissan in Waltham Abbey, Hertfordshire.

Azure Dynamics Corp., provider of hybrid electric powertrain solutions in the medium-duty commercial hybrid truck market, announced that it has delivered its 1,000th Balance Hybrid Electric Truck to Purolator, Azure’s largest customer. Purolator currently operates 555 units, making it the world’s largest fleet of Balance Hybrid Electric vehicles, according to an Azure announcement.

U.S. auto-safety regulators are pleased with General Motors Co. (GM)’s plan to fix its Volt electric cars following fires in crash testing, National Highway Traffic Safety Administrator David Strickland said.
