UK: Nissan’s electric NV200 to make fleet debut with Amsterdam taxi company

Nissan’s all-electric e-NV200 van will go into service with a Dutch taxi company this summer.

Amsterdam-based Taxi Electric became the world’s first fully electric taxi company in November 2011 when eight e-NV200s join its existing fleet of 25 Nissan Leaf vehicles.

The e-NV200, due in UK showrooms this June, is essentially the standard NV200 van but underneath, it is powered by an electric powertrain derived from the Leaf, providing up to 105 miles of fume-free motoring.
