Martinez implements electric vehicle charging station fees : Martinez News-Gazette

MARTINEZ, Calif. – As a means of continuing to provide electric vehicle charging stations for public use, the City of Martinez recently adopted and instituted electric vehicle charging fees.

Effective March 5, 2014, all of the City’s stations will have a charge of $1 per hour, with varying time limits for use. The time limits are enforceable by the Martinez Police Department in accordance with the Martinez Municipal Code Section10.38.020, and the City asks patrons to respect fellow electric vehicle users and limit time per charge accordingly.

The charging station at City Hall, 525 Henrietta St., will now cost $1 for every hour charged, with a four-hour maximum.

The station at Court and Main streets is also set at $1 per hour with a four-hour maximum.
