Nissan reveals new electric car ownership plan

Japanese carmaker Nissan is both the global and UK leader for electric car sales: and now it is hoping to further its market domination with an innovative new ownership plan.

Known as Nissan CARE-EV, the plan for the Nissan LEAF electric car means that drivers will benefit from five pledges meant to offer reassurance and peace of mind while making electric cars more appealing than ever.

So what are the pledges?

– Rapid charging at Nissan dealerships for free: LEAF customers will be able to rapidly charge their Nissan LEAF at anyNissan dealership across the country without charge. In addition, they can also charge their car at 50 locations across the UK that now benefit from rapid charging units installed by Nissan as part of the Ecotricity Electric Highway.

– Borrow a petrol or diesel car for free:Nissan LEAF drivers concerned about making one-off long journeys will be able to borrow a petrol or diesel Nissan car for up to 14 days without charge as long as they provide seven days’ notice.

– Guaranteed test drives: 24hr test drives will allow potential LEAF customers to see for themselves what driving an electric car is all about.

– Free pan-European roadside assistance: Free towing is available in the event that your Nissan LEAF runs out of power.

– Battery state of health guarantee:Cover against lithium-ion battery capacity loss below nine bars during the first five years or 60,000miles.
