Charlottesville Launches Mini-Grant Program for Electric Vehicle Charging Network

The City of Charlottesville has launched the first round of accepting applications for its new mini-grant program to support a publically-accessible EV (electric vehicle) charging network in the city.

The mini-grant program aims to support the creation of a network of EV charging stations by working with non-residential private propertyowners.

Criteria for those private property owners to apply for the program include:

– Chargers must be accessible for use by the general public.
– Within walking distance of commercial, retail, and tourist activity centers.
– Submitted for inclusion on EV charging locator maps.
– Intended to be provided at a low-cost or free rate to the public for a period of at least three years.
