Nissan Leaf Scores Three More Sales Milestones –

Nissan is on a roll, and last month it saw yet more Leaf sales milestones crossed in its home market and globally.

After September’s numbers were tallied, Japanese sales had crested past 30,000 units, and for the same month Nissan achieved its best global record of 4,700 units sold and cumulative global sales since the December 2010 launch had crested to 83,000.

Of the 4,700 sold globally in September, 1,953 were delivered in the U.S.

Nissan credited part of the home market success with proliferation of 1,900 DC quick chargers installed by a variety of companies and organizations.

Of these, 800 are at Nissan dealerships, and it plans 700 more by the end of this fiscal year.

Japan’s government has also kicked in by subsidizing a nationwide effort with 100.5 billion yen ($10,366,575) for charging infrastructure improvements.
