Tesla Motors to open two Supercharger stations along I-70 corridor

Tesla Motors, the California maker of the Model S electric sedan, this week will open the first Supercharger stations in Colorado along the key Interstate 70 corridor.

The Superchargers are at Glenwood Springs and Silverthorne along I-70, and both will be available for use Thursday.

The company said that with the latest expansion of Telsa’s Supercharger network, Model S drivers have access to 26 Superchargers in the United States.

The stations provide free charging and are between city centers and popular tourist destinations which enables free long-distance travel with the Model S, said Tesla.

The Model S was named Motor Trend’s 2013 Car of the Year.
