BALTIMORE – On Friday, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake joins the Maryland Department of the Environment Deputy Secretary Kathy Kinsey and Director of Baltimore City General Services Steve Sharkey to officially open for use Baltimore City’s first on-street electric vehicle charging stations.

The event also kicks off National Plug-in Day for Baltimore City and the State of Maryland which occurs all weekend on September 28th and 29th, with activities around the country.

The charging stations promote the use of electric vehicles which reduce greenhouse gasses and other pollutants. They produce zero direct emissions from their tailpipe, reducing greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane.
