Frankfurt motor show 2013: Tesla Superchargers "will reach UK" | Autocar

Tesla’s Elon Musk has confirmed his firm’s Supercharger network will arrive in the UK by the end of 2014

Tesla’s Supercharger fast charging stations will reach the UK next year. Tesla’s founder, Elon Musk announced the expansion of the programme at the Frankfurt motor show.
The rollout of the Supercharger network will include sites in London, and key locations in Germany, France, Norway, Austria, Holland, Switzerland and Sweden.
Tesla says the Superchargers are the “most advanced charging technology in the world” and can charge the Tesla Model S 20 times faster than a standard power source. A half charge is possible in around 20 minutes.
The first network of Europan Supercharging stations opened in Norway last month, allowing Tesla owners to travel for free across the country. By the end of 2014, 90 per cent of residents in England and Wales will be less than 200 miles from a Supercharger. They will be located near roadside restaurants, cafes and shopping centres.
