2015 Volkswagen e-Golf Called World Champion of Efficiency – Automotive Discovery – Auto Industry News and Rumors – Car News and Rumors

While the Nissan Leaf has enjoyed being king of the hill in the compact, affordable electric vehicles, it’s time to make room for the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf. This new electric compact showed up in full glory at the Frankfurt Motor Show and from what everyone is saying, it’s a vehicle to keep your eye out for.
Volkswagen has long been a leader in creating efficient, dependable vehicles and everyone is thrilled to know that the e-Golf has been built with the same pursuit of excellence, and then some. This new Golf version is the first to feature LED headlamps and you will be able to tell it apart from the crowd due to the blue line trim that goes from those lamps and throughout the grille.
A 24.2 kWh battery powers the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf to give it 113 horsepower and 199 pound feet of torque. It is a front wheel drive version that will go from 0 to 62 in 10.4 seconds. While that certainly won’t win any races, it will be plenty to jet around without having to whip out your wallet to pay for astronomical gas prices to fill up. Overall, it’s been noted as being dynamic and fun to drive.
