Volta Industries Heads to Arizona as It Gets Set for Launch of New Electric Vehicle Stations

HONOLULU – – Volta Industries LLC (Volta) today announced that Arden Penton, Director of Media and Operations, will be embarking on a tour through Arizona to secure advertisers for the company’s newest electric vehicle charging stations, which are scheduled to launch in the Grand Canyon state over the coming weeks. The Arizona visit follows a highly successful California tour Penton completed in July, as Volta prepares to expand its presence along the West Coast.

Volta operates the Volta Network, Hawaii’s only free-to-use electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. One of the largest networks of both free and pay-to-use EV charging stations on Oahu, the trek across California and Arizona demonstrate Volta’s efforts in growing the company beyond Hawaii.

“We had a tremendous response in California and are really excited about the opportunities in Arizona,” said Arden Penton, Volta Director of Media and Operations. “We look forward to building some great new sponsor partnerships for these EV charging stations that will soon be available.”

More than a dozen EV charging stations are scheduled to debut across Arizona, with locations in Phoenix and Tucson. The stations are designed and built by Volta and provide approximately 15 to 20 miles worth of range per hour of charging.

“We are absolutely thrilled to expand our network to these mainland cities,” said Scott Mercer, Volta Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “This is a huge opportunity to encourage more drivers to adopt and use this clean technology, which is on the rise in Hawaii and across North America. As we provide more EV charging stations, it means consumers will have more options to easily charge their vehicles and we’re doing something meaningful for the environment.”

Penton is scheduled to be traveling through Arizona this month to develop sponsor partnerships. Companies purchase a sponsorship of the vTower, an aesthetically pleasing charging kiosk that can support a sponsor both on the front and the back. By 2014, Volta expects to have a presence in up to 10 cities on the West Coast, with more than 1000 EV charging stations.
