Benefitting from exemption to the London Congestion Charge, electric cars can be driven into the capital without paying the fee, but are still then faced with the dilemma of where to park, just like any other motorists.

Now a network of 12 London Underground (LU) charging points will provide electric car drivers with the perfect place to park and charge, giving them access to London’s Metropolitan, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Central lines.

Two electric cars at once

Each of the twelve charging stations will be able to charge two EVs simultaneously and can provide charging at either fast (7kw) or rapid (22kw) rates. Part of the Source London charging network, the the new Siemens charging stations have been funded through the Government’s Plugged in Places scheme and by electricity supplier, UK Power Network Services.
