Local Tesla electric car owner revels in power, pleasure of ownership

You don’t accelerate when you put the pedal to the metal in a Tesla S electric car. You whoosh.

No, you teleport from A to B in absolute silence as the blurred scenery flashes by and the G forces lock you into your seat.

All within the speed limit, of course, officer.

Maybe the teleporting analogy is apt, because everything about the Tesla makes you feel that gas-powered cars with their myriad moving (and therefore deteriorating) parts are so, well, yesterday.

It has no gears, no mufflers, no catalytic converter, needs no gas, and exudes no emissions. It’s truly the big boy’s version of the model remote electric car. And, according to local Tesla owner Richard Shanahan, the electric car is finally here to stay in its various forms.
