The City of North Vancouver has installed two new electric car charging stations close to Lonsdale Avenue.

One is located at North Van City Library on level P1.5 and the other in the laneway off 13th Street east of city hall. Others are planned for outside Centennial Theatre and in Lower Lonsdale.

While most charging is done at home overnight, these stations provide additional charging on the road. As Level 2 stations, full charges takes four to six hours, while a top-up can be done in as little as a hour.

Level 3 stations, like the one planned for Lower Lonsdale, can completely charge a vehicle in 15 minutes.

“The City continues to embrace green technology and is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” said City of North Vancouver Mayor Darrell Mussatto in a press release.
