Motor racing circuit gets electric vehicle charging points from Nissan

A WORLD-famous Mecca for petrol heads is going electric thanks to Nissan.

The Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, home of the Festival of Speed, is to get three rapid chargers for electric vehicles, donated by the car giant, as well as looking to take on a pair of all-electric Sunderland-built Nissan Leafs.

The new rapid chargers, which are capable of filling a Leaf to 80 per cent battery capacity in just 30 minutes, will be installed at Goodwood House, the motor racing circuit and the estate’s racecourse.

They will be available for members of the public to use, opening up the estate as a destination for electric car drivers.

Lord March, who manages the family-owned estate, said: “I am thrilled Nissan has so generously agreed to install three electric vehicle charging points at strategic locations around the Goodwood Estate.

“Electric vehicles are a key ingredient to the future of motoring and reducing harmful emissions and, with Nissan’s support, I am pleased to be pioneering this ethical form of transportation across Goodwood, especially with the British-built Leaf.”
