eaasv : Message: Alameda July 4th Parade – EVs requested

Hello EVers,

So far we have 11 EVs confirmed for participating with us in the largest July 4th parade west of the Mississippi.
We have room for 20+ vehicles in our entry, so please consider joining us. We’d also like to show a variety of EVs, from production like Leaf, Tesla, Focus to conversion cars and trucks to motorcycles and bicycles.

We are group #48 of about 180 entries in the parade. We also have a couple of EVs that need drivers.

Need to be setup on the parade route, Lincoln Ave in Alameda , by 8:00-8:30 for 10:00 start of parade, on Thur, July 4. We will be setting up on the West side of Lincoln, around Chestnut St. The whole street will be blocked off for parade staging, so you need to enter Lincoln from Grand Ave, about the middle of Alameda Island. Best to arrive early since the street will get very crowded and you cannot enter from any of the side streets, only from Grand Ave. Please come early – we will have coffee, donuts and other refreshments to reward your participation.

Also, by coming early you can walk through the parade setup to see the other entries – quite a variety.

The parade is walking-speed pace. It will take about 90 minutes to travel the 3-1/2 mile route and there will be thousands of people to wave and smile at.

Please email me back (ebeaa@… or etcadman@…) to confirm your participation in our parade. Please include the type of vehicle and color and contact information (cell phone & email).

After the parade there is an informal potluck at the end of the parade route, for those who’d like to join in.
