Camden County opens 7 charging stations

he county unveiled seven charging stations on Thursday.

The county and ECOtality North America installed the stations at a cost of about $60,000. Half is covered by a grant from the U.S. Energy Department.

Freeholder Jeff Nash tells The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill ( ) electric vehicles reduce the carbon footprint and dependence on foreign oil.

The charging stations are located at the three Camden County College campuses. They’re also available at the Cooper River Boathouse in Pennsauken, the County Technical School, and at the libraries Winslow and Bellmawr.

The stations are free for a year.
