One Fourth of July parade will be marching on for the rest of the summer. The Ride the Future Tour (RTFT) is a cross-country electric vehicle parade that launches in Charleston, South Carolina on July 4th and lands atGoogle’s headquarters in Mountain View, CA on August 16th.

The 2,995-mile all-electric parade consists of a Nissan Leaf, a Zero Motorcycle, several A2B e-bikes, and a Xenon Scooter, which an electric scooter with a 55-mile range. Xenon is the start-up owned by RTFT founder Susan Jones. The Ride The Future Tour is not a publicity stunt for her business, however.

“I have other businesses that I rely on for my income,” says the 52-year old itinerant environmentalist entrepreneur. “My mission is to stop gas emissions.”

Jones and her entourage aim to set three Guinness World Records for longest journey by an electric car, longest journey by an electric scooter and longest journey on an electric motorcycle. The EV parade will be filmed and made into a documentary.
