USA: 2013 Nissan Leaf the Least Expensive Electric Vehicle in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Kan., May 24, 2013 — /PRNewswire-iReach/ — For buyers in Lawrence, KS the 2013 Nissan Leaf at Briggs Nissan is now the least expensive electric vehicle available with seating for five. This year the Nissan introduced a new base model to the 2013 Nissan Leaf in Lawrence and it comes with a price drop of $6,400 from the cheapest 2012 Nissan Leaf model. The new Nissan Leaf S trim level gives buyers the least expensive option for getting an electric vehicle that can accommodate five. With great lease deals on top of the price drops the Leaf is more attractive for buyers than ever before.

There are a few competitors in the electric vehicle market including the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Chevrolet Spark EV and Smart Fortwo Electric drive, but none car beat the Leaf’s lower price alone and that’s before you compare what each offers. The Smart Fortwo electric is a less expensive model but only offers seating for two. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is only a couple hundred dollars more, but the build of the Leaf is far superior to that of the i-MiEV. Even the Chevrolet Spark EV will tip the $30,000 mark when it arrives later this year; although the competition between the Leaf and Spark will be a heated battle.

The Nissan Leaf, along with adding a new entry-level trim, has also added standard heated front and rear seats to the mix of creature comforts. Stepping into SV or SL trims sees additional features like a new Bose Premium sound system, navigation and leather seating. The Leaf is proving buyers can opt for electric vehicles and not give up the comfort they’ve come to know in a Nissan; as well as paying nothing for fuel.
