Texas will get some of Tesla’s quick-charge stations | Biz Beat Blog

Tesla plans to expand its “supercharger” quick-charging stations into Texas and other states, allowing drivers of its electric cars to replenish their batteries in 20 minutes.

The California-based company already has supercharger stations on the West and East coasts to deal with electric cars’ limited range – a major issue with the vehicles.

Some of Tesla’s stylish, high-end sedans are capable of going more than 200 miles on fully charged batteries, compared with less than 100 miles for most electric vehicles.

But Tesla – an aggressive advocate for electric cars – wants to make it possible for its customers to take even longer trips in their electric cars.
