Headline: GreenWay electric vans in the biggest consumer test in Slovakia on Bratislava Motorshow

Bratislava, April 25, 2013: Motorshow and Big Courier test of the magazine Transport and Logistics

Within the accompanying training program of the Bratislava Motorshow, a big courier test took place in an open area D of the Incheba exhibition centre.

The test was organized by editors of the magazine Transport and Logistics, Incheba Expo Bratislava exhibition center and representatives of car brands Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen importers.

Twelve test vehicles were supplemented by one special vehicle – GreenWay electric van with a driving range up to 200 km. GreenWay Operator offers a service, through which it is possible to hire such an electric utility car.

The uniqueness lies not only in the electric vehicle itself but also in the costs of this vehicle, while electric vehicle offers through a complex system (including a network of charging and battery swapping stations, electricity to power vehicles, electric vehicles and complex information system, as well as support services and a call center) an operation with costs comparable to diesel engine vans.

Electric vehicle has a replaceable battery, which means that lengthy recharging is replaced with simple swapping of the battery in the GreenWay stations, which are available in Bratislava and Nitra. More stations are being built in clients´ (courier, freight and transport companies) locations on routes D1 and R1.

Further stations are also planned in Vienna and Brno.

Representatives of courier companies DHL, DPD, FedEx, GO4, ReMax, Slovak Parcel Service, Slovak Post, TNT and UPS tested and evaluated total of 13 vehicles. Couriers rated vehicles by assigning points on a scale from 0 to 10 to parameters and properties, which were divided in three main blocks: interior, exterior and ride.

In this way, the Bratislava Motorshow supports expert activities in motoring and commercial transport in Slovakia. Results of the consumer test will be published gradually in the magazine Transport and Logistics in this year’s issues 5 – 9 (May – September) and in the online newspaper
