Palm Springs officials to highlight upgrades to electric vehicle charging stations

PALM SPRINGS — Palm Springs officials Tuesday will mark the completion of upgrades to 10 electric vehicle charging stations in the city.

Mayor Steve Pougnet and other members of the City Council are expected to attend the 1 p.m. ribbon-cutting event behind City Hall near the Palm Springs Dog Park, where two of the charging stations are located, according to city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell.

The other upgraded stations are at the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership headquarters across from City Hall, Palm Springs International Airport, the Palm Springs Public Library and the city’s fleet fueling area. The stations are free and open to the public.
