2014 Honda Odyssey, 2014 Accord Plug-In Hybrid and 2014 Acura MDX Will Be Unveiled at New York Auto Show

Press releases aside, Honda made use of Cheerios breakfast cereal to underscore the fact that families with kids will be the main target market of the new Odyssey minivan. The word “Odyssey” was spelled out with Cheerios, as what is shown on the photo, and while that left no doubt as to which demographic the vehicle will be aimed at, details were quite sparse on the 2014 iteration. The press release merely stated that the refreshed 2014 Odyssey will come with some “innovative new features”, features that the carmaker will likely be discussing in depth at the New York International Auto Show.

The 2014 Acura MDX, on the other hand, will be one for Honda buyers looking for more pop under the hood. This seven-passenger vehicle will, according to the presser, “offer enhanced ride comfort, a more versatile cabin, and increased fuel efficiency, while also improving dynamic performance.” Powertrain configuration will include a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 with direct injection and Variable Cylinder Management. Buyers can choose between SH-AWD and two-wheel-drive, with the latter drivetrain setup being the first of its kind for the MDX. Other improvements include wider legroom in the second row, “improved third-row seat access” and enhanced infotainment and safety features
