USA: Electric car charging stations on the rise

The American consumer’s acceptance of electric and electric hybrid cars, while arguably slow, has not stopped management of some area office buildings from installing charging stations for plug-in electric vehicles.

One of them, RFR Realty, has installed charging stations for plug-in electric vehicles at four of its seven Stamford office buildings — three of the four Stamford Plaza office buildings and at 300 Atlantic St.

“We are keeping up with and anticipating the requests and needs of our tenants with this proactive initiative,” said Frank Kozak, general manager of RFR Realty, adding that it signals RFR’s belief in the growth of the clean technology. “It will help us to make future decisions about the type of infrastructure that is needed in our buildings as the vehicles become more common.”
