Morrisville opening new EV charging stations

MORRISVILLE, N.C. —

Morrisville will celebrate the opening of two new electronic vehicle charging stations with a ribbon cutting event on Friday, Jan. 25 near the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce.

The two newest EV charging stations in the Triangle are located at 260 Town Hall Drive. The stations are available for use at any time and are free to use. Two cars will be able to charge at the same time.

The EV stations are being opened due to a partnership Morrisville formed with Progress Energy. The utility company will collect data from the devices through April 30, 2013 and use it as part of their study looking at the impact EV charging has on electric infrastructure that already exists
