New electric charging stations for cars now available at Tidal Creek Market

I received a copy of a press release last week, reporting electric-car charging stations are now up and running at Tidal Creek Cooperative Food Market, near the old Cinema 6 theater on Oleander Drive.

Since I am a registered tree hugger – along with being an animal lover – with the bumber stickers to prove it, I’ll also post environmental news here on the blog.

The release reads:

“” “”
Progress Energy Carolinas, a subsidiary of Duke Energy, has installed two plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging stations at the market, as part of its commercial charging station research program. The new stations are ready for public use and are located at 5329 Oleander Dr. in Wilmington.

“Tidal Creek is excited to partner with Progress Energy Carolinas and provide an alternative to fossil fuels,” said Craig Harris, general manager of Tidal Creek Cooperative Food Market. “Electric vehicles are becoming much more common.”
