USA: City CarShare’s fleet is now is 44 percent plug-in electric or hybrid

It’s no secret that the adoption curve of electric vehicles is a slow one. (See the Pike Research put out a report in September that predicted there will be about 392,000 electric vehicles total on the road in 2015, far short of the Obama administration’s goal of 1 million:

But you don’t have to buy an electric vehicle to drive one. City CarShare announced Tuesday that they’ve added two new all-electric Ford Focuses to their fleet. The non-profit organization already has a Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi iMiEV, Chevrolet Volt and Toyota Prius plug-in hybrids, as well as the Honda Civic, Toyota Camry and Toyota Prius hybrids. Alas, no Tesla Model S or Fisker Karma yet.
