Green Vehicles to Steal Limelight at 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show

The Los Angeles Auto Show is just a week away and the event is all set to feature a number of green and electric vehicles that will have minimal impact on the environment.

The auto show, set to begin Nov. 30 is the right launch pad for electric vehicles, as California is said to have the largest market for automakers dealing with electric cars. The state’s policy of giving tax incentives to buyers of electric vehicles seems to have made EVs a popular choice, and consumers looking for options at the Auto Show wouldn’t be disappointed.

In the EV section, General Motors is all set to showcase the Chevrolet Spark EV that is said to set the benchmark for an urban electric vehicle. Though the manufacturer hasn’t revealed many details about the EV, the vehicle is expected to cost about $13,495, and it will be powered by nanophosphate lithium-ion battery packs.

The lithium-ion battery pack is capable of handling multiple DC Fast Charges daily and charging can be completed in less than seven hours using a dedicated 240V charge, the company said in a statement.
