USA: Long Islanders To Showcase Electric Vehicles On “National Plug In Day

At Sunday event, Long Islanders will glimpse the future of ground transportation – reliable, non-polluting and low operating cost plug-in vehicles

(Long Island, NY) Dozens of electric vehicle drivers and enthusiasts will get together to highlight the fun, clean-air benefits, and cost-savings of electric cars next Sunday as part of the second annual National Plug In Day. Car dealers will be showcasing their latest plug-in vehicles, and owners of such vehicles will be there to tell how they traded the gas pump for electric plug.

Plug-in vehicles by Nissan, GM, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford, Honda, and others will be available for ride-and-drives, and EV chargers and other products will be on display. Solar panel installers will be there to show how people can “power their cars from the sun.”

Long Island’s event is one of more than 60 across the country where electric vehicle owners and interested citizens from Maui to New York will participate in electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, awards to leaders promoting EV-readiness, launches of new public EV charging stations, and other events.
