USA: Feeling ecstatic about my electric car

Regarding the Sept. 13 editorial “Car crash”:

The Post wrote that “the American taxpayer has gotten precious little for the administration’s investment in battery-powered vehicles, in terms of permanent jobs or lower carbon dioxide emissions. There is no market . . . for vehicles that are less convenient and cost thousands of dollars more than similar-sized gas-powered alternatives.

I am an American who has received a great deal from the Obama administration’s investment in electric technology. I have driven my 2012 Chevy Volt 9,977 miles, consuming 76.5 gallons of gas at 130.4 miles per gallon. As for the editorial’s stating that electric vehicles “are less convenient,” not so: I have topped off my tank only eight times in 10 months.
