Plug-In 2013 Dates Announced: San Diego, Sept. 30-Oct. 3
Sixth Annual International Conference on Plug-In Electric Vehicles Returns to California

PALO ALTO, CA – The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) announced today that Plug-In 2013 – an international conference of expert insights on technical advances, market research and policy initiatives shaping the future of plug-in electric vehicles – will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, Sept. 30-Oct. 3.

Plug-In 2013 will be organized by EPRI, with regional support from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) – a platinum sponsor since the first Plug-In conference in 2008. Plug-In is recognized as the event to discuss the latest real-world data on advanced plug-in vehicle technology, user experiences and electric transportation infrastructure.

“After three years of having plug-in electric vehicles in the marketplace, 2013 promises to be the year in which electricity, automotive and equipment industries will see real results regarding how effective our efforts have been in growing plug-in electric vehicle infrastructure and technologies,” said Mark Duvall, director of electric transportation at EPRI. “There is no better place to have this discussion than at Plug-In 2013 and in San Diego, where there is so much activity supporting the adoption of plug-in vehicles.”

Plug-In attracts those who bring the vehicles and infrastructure to the marketplace, such as automotive manufacturers, component suppliers, electric utilities, government agencies, the environmental community and academia. At Plug-In, they exchange ideas and gather information to make key decisions needed to accelerate the electrification of transportation.

“At Plug-In 2013 we will see how the customer perspective has shaped the growth and future of the plug-in electric vehicle industry,” said Greg Haddow, clean transportation manager for SDG&E. “We will examine what we have learned from those customers and what they expect in terms of fuel costs, convenient charging and other important variables. We look forward to seeing these results and serving as the host utility of Plug-In 2013 in San Diego.”

Hosted in San Antonio in 2012, Plug-In features sessions on vehicle technology, infrastructure, policy and outreach. The popular exposition floor includes vehicles, electric infrastructure, batteries and related components. For more information, visit
