USA: Charging stations could be installed at the Flagship

Stations would be used by electric vehicle companies and car owners

ANDERSON, Ind. — Charging stations for electric vehicles may be in Anderson’s future.

Chuck Staley, the president of the Flagship Enterprise Center, would like to put two charging stations in front of the Flagship building, which is located by Interstate 69’s Exit 22.

They would be the first in the city.

Staley spoke to the Anderson Redevelopment Commission during its Tuesday meeting and gave members an overview of the proposed project.

The stations would be available to companies who are in the electric and hybrid car industry, so they could test out their products, he said.

Having the stations would serve as a way to draw new businesses who are trying to be more environmentally friendly and who will see the stations as an asset in the community, Staley said.
