India: Mahindra Reva electric vehicle manufacturing plant inaugurated

Mahindra Reva electric vehicles, the EV arm of the Mahindra conglomerate has inaugurated its new manufacturing facility near Bengaluru. The plant, which was built with an investment of Rs 100 crore, uses sustainable methods in manufacturing and was recently awarded the Platinum rating by the Indian Green Building Council.
Anand Mahindra, chairman Mahindra Group, during the inauguration unveiled the company’s vision for the future of mobility which he conveyed through five Cs: Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost effective. He also said that the auto industry had reached a point where there was change going on in the way people used mobility solutions.
Mahindra also unveiled a variety of technologies for its electric vehicles like the ‘Quick2charge’ where an EV could be charged in 15 minutes to run up to 25km, ‘Sun2car’ which allows the car to tap the potential of solar energy and ‘Car 2 Home’ which allows the car to power a house
