Firefighters locate body, burned vehicle at brush fire in Saratoga hills

Firefighters responding to a brush fire in Saratoga discovered a body just outside a badly burned car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The body was badly burned by the fire; however, there are “indicators” that the deceased driver is a woman, according to CHP Officer John Darling.
The CHP believes the vehicle is a Volkswagen Beetle.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection responded to a brush fire in the Saratoga hills near Heather Heights sometime around 12:20 a.m. Firefighters discovered a vehicle that had been destroyed by the fire, as well as the body of a person just near the vehicle.
The vehicle was located about 125 feet down an embankment, Darling said.
