
Jaguar will be heading for the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a plugin hybrid research vehicle based on their XJ sedan. The full label for the pre-production model is the XJ_e plug-in hybrid engineering research vehicle and it is the first step by the brand to offer a more environmental friendly and fuel efficient model in their line-up.
The powertrain consists of 2.0-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine that works alongside a lithion-ion powered electric motor. It offers a respectable maximum output of 334PS (246kW/329hp) which allows it to accelerate from 0-100kph (0-62mph) in 6.5 seconds while top speed is electronically limited at 250kph (155mph).
