USA: SF BayLEAFs Gathering #14 June 9th, Union City (H.M.Clearfield)

SF BayLEAFs Gathering #14 will be June 9th in Union City at 8:45 AM. This will be our first “regular” meeting in 3 months (with the joint EAA meetings and Hybrids2HotRods in between), and there has been lots of activity to cover. Our special guest speaker is Karen Schkolnick, from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. She’ll be discussing the state of charging in the Bay Area, and the BAAQMD’s programs for developing charging infrastructure. There will be a generous Q&A period following the presentation. As well, the BayLEAFs are doing more in 2012 and these activities will be reviewed. And then, there’s the always popular horn upgrade clinic, which will take place in the parking lot (and will Electric4Me be doing a trailer hitch installation? Come and find out!). The venue, Union City Library, has a small meeting room but lots of shade in the parking lot. Here are the details:

SF BayLEAFs Gathering #14
Union City Library

Union City, CA 94587
(Enter from Royal Ann Dr)

Refreshments 7:55 AM
Meeting: 8:45
Chair stacking: 10:55 AM
Horn Clinic: 11:00

Miscellaneous notes: Union City Library now has Wi-Fi, so we may be able to webcast the meeting (I’m told it’s spotty in the meeting room). The meeting room will hold 50 (stated capacity), so be prepared to stand if you show up late. There is no charging on site, but the location is central enough that most everyone can reach it without a charge. A good LEAF Frogging spot is Target, at Automall Parkway, about 10 miles South (7 Coulomb L2 charging stations +2 in the handicapped spaces) and at the W Hotel (1 L2) about 5 miles West. If you want to do the horn upgrade, pick up a set of horns and bring them to the meeting–we’ll teach you to do it yourself or do it for you. The recommended horn is:
which is available from a number of retailers for around $20-25. If you want to hear what it sounds like, check out this link:

Will Phil bring something new and exciting to add to your LEAF? Is Felix fully recovered from his skiing accident? Mark your calendars, update your smart phones, and join us on June 9th in Union City to find out.
