USA: More on Connecticut’s Electric Car Community Days

I have included in this email some information on the EV days events next weekend. I will be at the Berlin event and I am still looking for anyone who can come with their EV that day. I will get you as many cookies as you can eat 🙂 I also will make sure you can get to the charging locations (120v and J1772) . All are welcome to attend the event and the presentation. Several different commercial EVs will be there.

If you are interested please let me know.

Thanks

Andy

CL&P is helping to organize and a sponsor two events for Connecticut’s first Electric Car Community Days on June 1-2.

Friday, June 1, Berlin, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
· Cars on campus: CL&P will be hosting an event on the main campus in Berlin that will include one of the company’s electric vehicles near the Dutch Point Credit Union and other electric plug-in vehicles.

· Lunch time presentation: Bring your lunch to hear NU’s electric vehicle specialists Watson Collins and Einat Dorobantzu hosting a presentation from noon to 1 p.m. in the Berlin auditorium. They will discuss electric vehicle industry developments and how CL&P is paving the way for plug-in vehicles in Connecticut. Cookies and water will be available for employees at the presentation.

Friday, June 1, Stamford, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
CL&P will be hosting an event at Government Center in Stamford with the group Sustainable Stamford. The city of Stamford is partnering with CL&P and the state’s Clean Cities Coalitions to educate the community about the benefits of plug-in electric vehicles as a cleaner, lower-cost transportation choice. You will have the opportunity to see 3-5 electric vehicles onsite. Local utility companies, exhibitors and corporate volunteers will show you other products and services that are part of a sustainable future.

Subject: [NEEAA] Connecticut’s Electric Car Community Days [1 Attachment]

Attached is an email to the utility funding supported charging stations regarding a program that is sponsored by the CT utilities to showcase EV’s and charging stations. They have also sent a similar letter to the EV associated dealerships. They asked me if our group would like to be involved and in what way. Let me know what suggestions (if any) we as a group would like to do at these events.

IMHO: I think it would be best if we were to setup a conversion vehicle and table (with membership forms) at each of the 4 locations. It might be hard to staff all those locations for two days. I might be able to staff some of the Berlin event.

Thanks
