If Chicagoland’s electric vehicle drivers want to charge up at one of the area’s shiny new stations that can charge an EV in under 30 minutes, it will cost them $21 for three 15-minute sessions.
350Green LLC — the developer of a widespread, $8.8 million infrastructure rollout of 280 charging stations, 73 of which are fast-charging — announced Thursday that EV drivers must purchase a payment card to use the stations, available at www.350green.com/card. So-called Level 2 charging stations, which take hours to fully charge a vehicle and are now widely available as part of the installation, are free for the time being.
