Plug-In 2012 Conference & Exposition Opens Registration

Taking Place in San Antonio in July, Conference Will Offer a Complete, Open and Direct Dialogue on the Future of Plug-In Hybrid and Electric Transportation

Registration is now open for the Plug-In 2012 Conference & Exposition, which will provide attendees with the latest insights from experts on the technical advances, market research and policy initiatives shaping the future of plug-in hybrid and electric transportation. The fifth annual international conference (www.plugin2012.com), organized by the Electric Power Research Institute, will take place July 23-26, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas.

As automakers continue to introduce a wide array of plug-in hybrid electric and battery electric vehicles, representatives from automotive manufacturers, infrastructure providers, component suppliers, electric utilities, government agencies, academia and the environmental community will find Plug-In 2012 an ideal setting to share best practices and advance their collaboration to make the decisions needed for accelerating transportation electrification.

The agenda for Plug-In 2012 will include three high-level plenary sessions, plus breakout sessions with working experts in three tracks: Cars (vehicle technology, deployment and testing), Charging (infrastructure technology) and Community (creation of a successful market).

“Nowhere else will industry stakeholders have a more complete, more open and more direct dialogue about plug-in hybrid and electric transportation – including access to the latest real-world data and insight into cutting-edge research – than at Plug-In 2012,” said Mark Duvall, director of Electric Transportation at the Electric Power Research Institute.

The event also will feature a pre-conference workshop on regional plug-in electric vehicle readiness, an attendee ride-n-drive, and a public night. In addition, it will include the always-popular exposition floor, showcasing vehicles, supporting electricity infrastructure and much more. The exposition already includes more than 20 confirmed exhibitors.

Plug-in 2012 will build on the successful past conferences, held in San Jose, Calif. (2008); Long Beach, Calif. (2009); San Jose (2010); and Raleigh, N.C. (2011). Plug-In 2011 drew more than 600 attendees, 50 exhibiting companies and about 1,300 consumers for Public Night.

Platinum sponsors to date for Plug-In 2012 include CPS Energy and San Diego Gas & Electric (a Sempra Energy utility).
