TRANSCRIPT

Hi. I’m Natalie, and this is Autoweek TV for Friday, April 6th.

–First up today, Infiniti shows off its luxury electric vehicle.

–Toyota reveals the redesigned Avalon.

–And finally we check out a more fuel-efficient Ram pickup.

Infiniti came to the New York auto show with a new EV concept based on the Nissan Leaf. The Infiniti LE sedan is longer, wider and lower than its hatchback counterpart. Infiniti says the 34-kilowatt-hour battery pack is good for 100 miles of travel.

The concept showcased a wireless inductive-charging system that can be charged by parking over an electrified pad in the garage floor. Pretty cool.

A dramatically restyled Toyota Avalon bowed to the public on Thursday. It goes on sale later this year as a 2013 model.

The Avalon sedan, which shares its underpinnings with the Lexus LS, is shorter and narrower than the current model and weighs about 115 pounds less. The sedan gets three driving modes, normal, eco and sport. It will also get shift paddles on the steering wheel.
