USA: 4 new electric vehicle charging stations installed in Hermosa Beach

The electric vehicle wave hitting the South Bay has splashed across Hermosa Beach, where four new public charging stations have been installed.

“Electric vehicle purchases are trending upwards,” said Hermosa Beach Mayor Jeff Duclos. “We want Hermosa Beach to be an inviting place for people who own those vehicles.”

The charging stations are built and designed by Coulomb Technologies, a Campbell, Calif.- based energy firm. The new Hermosa Beach stations, located in front of City Hall on Valley Drive and in the 300 block of Pier Avenue, will be free until next month.

The recent installations come as more EV charging stations are cropping up in the South Bay.

“We had noticed an increasing trend in our patrons driving these type of cars,” said Keith Geiger, general manager of the mall. “We wanted to offer that service to our customers and help them make sustainable decisions.”
