USA: Forum to be held on electric car charging station

EV4, an electric car charging station company that recently received approval from the Tillamook City Council to place a charging station downtown, will present their plan for the development at a forum held by the Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce at noon March 22 at Tillamook Bay Community College, Room 204.

EV4 is a Portland-based company that designs, manufactures, installs and maintains solar-powered charging stations. The station proposed for Tillamook would be a “fast charge” station capable of recharging an electric car in less than an hour.

Hans van der Meer, president of EV4, will have a short presentation and will field questions from the community. The development could make Tillamook’s downtown a unique draw for electric vehicle drivers, as there are currently only a handful of charging stations in Oregon capable of fast charging an electric vehicle. The Tillamook station will be the first on the Oregon Coast.
