Geneva: Toyota GT 86, Prius Plug-in Hybrid and NS4 revealed

The Japanese based automaker Toyota has recently presented, during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the GT 86, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the NS4.

The Toyota GT 86 has been revealed in late 2011, but even so, the model is still making quite a buzz between the company’s fans. The Japanese sports car presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show isn’t bringing anything new to the lineup and the model is still 4,240 mm long, 1,285 mm tall and 2,570 mm wide, being the most compact four-seat sports car on the market. The GT 86 is powered by the Subaru borrowed 2.0 liter four-cylinder, which is developing 197 HP at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque (151 lb-ft) at 6,600 rpm.

Another Toyota model which was presented during the Swiss automotive event was the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, which has been recently rated at 134.5 mpg (2.1 l/100 km) and 49 g/km of CO2. Those impressive figures are being achieved thanks to the 1.8 liter petrol engine and it’s 98 horsepower, helped by an electric motor adding 81 HP and by a 4.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, to a total output of 134 HP. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).

After making its debut back in January at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, the Toyota NS4 advanced plug-in hybrid has recently been presented at the Geneva Motor Show too, but the company didn’t say anything about it yet, and the strategy was just to display it. The NS4 model is coming with HMI (human-machine interface) which is centered around a multi-touch screen, which can also direct the audio, air conditioning, battery charge, navigation functions and other features. The model is also coming with the next-gen pre-collision system (PCS), ADB (adaptive driving beam) and BSM (blind spot monitor), along with some other interesting things, like the rain-resistant coating, anti-fog coating, high ultraviolet absorbing inner-layer, which removes 99 percent of harmful UVA and UVB rays, and with the anti-solar film with radio-wave transparency, that reduces the model’s temperature and improves the electronic device functionality.
