Nova Scotia Power executives want to know how electric vehicles will work in this province, so they’ve partnered with other businesses to give them a test drive.

The program is called ShareReady and it centers on utilizing one of the first all-electric vehicles brought to market, the Nissan Leaf.

“The goal of the program is to really start having a discussion about electric vehicles and what they’re going to mean for the province as we see more of them come onto the market,” says Aaron Veinotte, communications advisor for NS Power.

ShareReady was first announced in November 2011 and the utility secured 10 vehicles from O’Regan’s Nissan Halifax for the project, subsequently eight of those vehicles have been sold or leased to partnering companies.
