GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Five electric vehicle charging stations were made available in downtown Grand Rapids on Tuesday.

A kick-off event featuring Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell announced five plug-in electrical vehicle (PEV) charging stations at downtown parking ramps and on Ottawa Street.

The stations are available at:
•Government Center Ramp (300 Monroe Ave NW) – Ottawa Level
•Ottawa Fulton Ramp (50 Ottawa Ave NW) – Level A
•Gallery on Fulton Ramp (10 Commerce Ave SW) – Near entrance
•Weston Commerce Ramp (16 Weston St SW) – Level B
•City Hall at the Ottawa Street parking spaces

The stations cost 50 cents per hour to use on top of the regular cost of parking.

Individuals using the charging stations can also subscribe to the ChargePoint network, which finds and reserves> charging spaces.
