We’re very proud to be the only La Jolla luxury resort and spa to have earned this honor.

San Diego, California (PRWEB) May 29, 2011

ECOtality, a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies, along with The Lodge at Torrey Pines have announced that they have installed ECOtality’s Blink Electric Vehicle (EV) Commercial Charging Stations at the 5-Diamond property. The Lodge at Torrey Pines is dedicated to protecting the environment based on the Leadership Level status that was garnered from the California Green Lodging Program, and proud to be the first hotel to receive this honor. The program recognizes efforts by the California hospitality industry to minimize waste, conserve energy and protect natural resources.

“Because we are so close to the natural beauty of Torrey Pines Golf Course and Torrey Pines State Reserve, we feel a special obligation to make a commitment to our environment,” said General Manager Dan Fullen. “We’re very proud to be the only La Jolla luxury resort and spa to have earned this honor.”

These Level 2 Chargers allow Electric Vehicle users to safely and efficiently charge their vehicles with user-friendly features and a smart, fully interactive 7-inch touch screen. These chargers will enable guests with Electric Vehicles to use their car for the day and know they can come back to the resort and charge their vehicle.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines® is a tribute to the California Craftsman Movement and is modeled after Greene and Greene’s famed Gamble and Blacker houses in Pasadena, California, two of the finest examples of early 1900s Craftsman-style architecture. The Lodge features 170 spacious guest rooms, including 8 suites, more than 13,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, a 9,500 square-foot full-service spa and two restaurants serving contemporary California cuisine. The Lodge is adjacent to the Torrey Pines Golf Course and is within walking distance of Torrey Pines State Reserve.
