EEVC-2011
European Electric Vehicle Congress
Brussels, 26th – 28th October 2011
Battery, Hybrid and Fuel cell vehicles are ready:
Challenges, Opportunities and Outlook
A conference aimed at developing synergies!>Browse to http://www.eevc.eu for more info and register as soon as possible…. Or submit your paper, before 31st May 2011.

One of the pillars of the European Commission’s policy to lower greenhouse gas emissions from transport and to reduce oil dependency is the strategy on alternative motor fuels to substitute 20% of the fossil fuel by 2020. In this framework, Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles will play an important role.

A conference, gathering the different actors, from industry, research institutes, NGO’s and public authorities, would therefore be very helpful to develop a roadmap for sustainable mobility technology.

It is indeed very important to develop an arena where the needs and constraints from the ones are well understood by the others. This is the only way to make sure that the most appropriate products or technologies for Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles are selected for market introduction.

The conference will be structured as follows:
 Opening session dedicated to an overview of the European situation (presentation by the EU Authorities, ACEA, EUROBAT, CLEPA, EURELECTRIC, …);
 Plenary session on the Green Car Initiative PPP (ERTRAC, EPoSS and SmartGrids as well as to the current EU related projects);
 Global vision plenary session (UN, California, US & Asiatic perspectives);
 Parallel sessions:
 9 scientific sessions (specialized presentations on Vehicle Technologies, Propulsion systems, Energy Storage, …) ;
 4 Industry & policy sessions (tailored presentations on Marketing, Mobility, Infrastructure, Environment & Energy Efficiency, Public Policies & Promotion, Regulation & Standards, Energy Security, Safety & Security, …);
 6 Round tables, (cross-shared and mutual interest discussions on plug-in hybrids, hydrogen and fuel cells, introduction barriers & market requirements, smart grids, charging infrastructure, health);
 Closing session (to draft common statements, suggestions and, if appropriate, recommendations…).
The aim of the conference is to:
 Present the state of the art of the different considered technologies to improve the situation (what progress has been achieved since last year, what is the potential? time to market? costs?);
 Analyze the worldwide situation and identify challenges, opportunities and outlook;
 Share a global understanding of the situation (context, economy, technology) and draft common statements, suggestions and, if appropriate, some recommendations.

In view of the interest and scientific support the Congress already gets, EEVC will be a high level event. Do not miss it!
