China: State Grid to spend RMB 32 bln on e-auto charging stations

Nov. 26, 2010 (China Knowledge) – State Grid Corp of China, the country’s leading power grid operator, intends to spend a total of RMB 32 billion to build charging stations for electric vehicles by the end of 2020, sources reported.

According to the plan, the state-owned power giant will invest RMB 14 billion in the large project in the next five years and RMB 18 billion during the period from 2016 to 2020. This year, the e-vehicle station project will involve investment of around RMB 300 million.

In 2010, around 27 subsidiaries and branches of State Grid will be responsible for the construction and management of 75 such kind of charging stations, 6,209 charging facilities and a few service centers for battery replacement.
