HONOLULU—Nissan says all 300 Hawaii residents who have put down deposits for the Leaf electric car should get a vehicle when the first shipment arrives in January.

The islands are one of seven U.S. markets where Nissan is introducing the electric car.
Nissan executive Brian Carolin says Hawaii’s 300 reservations for the Leaf are the highest per capita of any of U.S. market.
