March 4 (Bloomberg) — Demand for both electric cars and lithium ion batteries to power them is likely to be such that manufacturers will be installing capacity as a matter of urgency within two years, according to Carlos Ghosn, the chief executive officer of Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co., the Financial Times reported.
Speaking at the Geneva motor show, Ghosn said Renault and Nissan are well placed to profit because only they will have an electric car on the market by 2011, the newspaper reported.
